Road Safety

Cell phone use while driving
Last Thursday, we made a list of ways to stay safe on the road for drivers and pedestrians when it's dark and rainy.

Drivers - When you are driving:
  • Don't talk on the phone
  • Don't eat or drink
  • Don't drink (alcohol) and drive
  • Don't put on makeup
  • Don't speed

Pedestrians - When you are crossing the street:
  • Don't text on your cell phone
  • Don't listen to loud music with headphones or earbuds in your ears
  • Make sure you can see clearly. Don't wear hoodies that cover your eyes and face
  • Wear bright or reflective clothing
  • Use a flashlight or a bright light (there are phone apps for this) at night
  • Make eye contact with drivers, so you know they see you.
