Road Safety
Last Thursday, we made a list of ways to stay safe on the road for drivers and pedestrians when it's dark and rainy.
Drivers - When you are driving:
Pedestrians - When you are crossing the street:
Drivers - When you are driving:
- Don't talk on the phone
- Don't eat or drink
- Don't drink (alcohol) and drive
- Don't put on makeup
- Don't speed
Pedestrians - When you are crossing the street:
- Don't text on your cell phone
- Don't listen to loud music with headphones or earbuds in your ears
- Make sure you can see clearly. Don't wear hoodies that cover your eyes and face
- Wear bright or reflective clothing
- Use a flashlight or a bright light (there are phone apps for this) at night
- Make eye contact with drivers, so you know they see you.
